RIBAGORÇA COLLABORATES ROMANCE IN THE REHABILITATION OF HOUSE Sulla




For over 15 years, Sapeira Residents Association (The Terreta Tremp) acquired the Sullivan House, a house manor of the village with the goal to make it their clubhouse. Due to severe deterioration of the roof, the first intervention was to maintain the structure of the building. Romance Ribagorza Association has funded a second action in order to make the interior habitable. The intervention, started in 2009, has enabled two rooms downstairs and give it a number of spaces to accommodate a future "information point" for visitors to The Terreta and spaces for exhibitions, audio-visual rooms and great room multipurpose meeting. With the help of the Association, has acted in the basement, recovering as a multipurpose hall and exhibition, on the ground floor, to serving in a future point of information (reception desk), screening room, an archive of material informative and public toilet, and on the first floor, enabling one party and multi-purpose hall and by providing a service that complements the area office and current TV. Significantly, the Sullivan House was the property of a feudal lord, and therefore is one of the largest equity houses in the village. It is also located in an area called "the Castle", not only for its magnificent views enjoyed by the banks of the "viewpoint of the vultures", but by being located where stood an old Moorish castle, of which there are virtually no remains, in the heart border. With this action, the Association supports initiatives Romance Ribagorza associative and promotes social life in the small towns of the territory.
